Thank you Norm. And Mike I've got my chops down when it comes to my instruments. I just have a natural yearning for knowledge and I understand as a music enthusiast how much work does go into a guitar. Whether its off a factory line or hand-crafted, work went into it never the less. AND being a drum specialist at GuitarCenter it's always an aawesome thing to build customer relations. Not just sell them an instrument but talk to them like they are your friend. So as a customer I like to know about the manufacturer and the people that made the instrument.

I love playing, writing, and spreading this simple yet beautiful and powerful creature called music. But I also love learning everything I can about. Because you have to remember...Knowledge is power.

Come on fellas. It's really not a big deal. Definitely not something to argue about. Mike I appreciate and respect your honesty and Norm I respect and admire your quest for knowledge. So let's just agree to disagree and get along. I mean...internet arguing is really for the teenagers anyway.

I actually worked at GuitarCenter in Memphis for a while. I'm pretty "hip" to the brands, styles, and other mechanics of guitars, drums, pro audio, etc.

This is definitely an oriental bass. I have seen the Scott name on different kinds of instruments other than basses. The instruments I have seen are usually 3rd tier in terms of quality not to be confused with the higher end japanese or chinese instruments. On the other hand, you may have a one of a kind custom Scott known only to a few nameless collectors. You can always opt to spend a few bucks and have someone like George Gruhn give you the skinny. I would not advise this but after all it is your quest.

Thanks Tom. I really appreciate all of your helps guys and I hope that I can get all the facts on my bass. Nevertheless I'm having some trouble with the pickups. I'll tap on them and it comes through perfect but when I pluck the strings I get nothing. If I put a little effort behind the plucking then it comes through with a lot of crackling. Any suggestions? Do I need to dip them in wax like I've seen from a majority of people that own a jazz bass of this age? Thanks in advance.
