Re: pickups
I have installed all sizes of humbuckers in Tele's neck position.
The last two which I still have is the GFS Mini humbucker.
Some Tele's have the bathtub routing under the pick guard, but most will have to be routed for the humbucker to set down in there.
I have one mounted in a Black Pick guard that I will sell.

Re: pickups
The Allparts Mini Humbucker seems to work great in the neck position of my tele......

Here's a clip of the pickup i did some time ago.....i'm not connected with Allparts in any way although they used the utube clip on their site.

Re: pickups
Brian,
I have a tele that I put Seymour Duncan stack humbuckers in that sounds great. I can go from a very bright tele sound to a very mellow sound. I used a Tele Little 59 for the neck pickup and a Vintage Stack for the bridge pickup. Except for my 1968 ES-335, this tele is the most versatile guitar that I have.
These pickups look like single coil pickups and fit in the guitar without routing.

Re: pickups
Hi Brian,
I had a Fender 1952 reissue Hot Rod Deluxe with a mini-HB at the neck position. I eventually sold the guitar, but here is a YouTube demo of the guitar, concentrating on the HB that you might find informative.
Good luck with the project.

Re: pickups
This guy built his own using components available online. I forget exactly which company made the guitar parts but he gets a pretty good sound out of it.
Excellent, excellent, player on top of it

I reccomend you all check his site out. He's added some New Stuff. The guy does an excellent note-for-note and you can see it all plainly
