REAL gut strings VS. Nylon

How'do gang!! I found some La Bella strings with real gut trebles, anybody ever use these??? And...how do they compare to nylon? I've never used gut strings on guitar....but I have on my banjo, they were kinda dull and didnt last very long at all. Later on...and thanks.

The reason nylon strings got developed in the first place was the same reason plastic drumheads and banjo heads were. Animal material is sensitive to moisture and atmospheric humidity changes. Meaning they can be a bit unpredictable, stretching or tightening and possibly longevity. As for tonal difference I doubt anyone hearing you play would even notice any difference. You'll probably get the same result you got with the banjo experiment.

I'm sure La Bella makes them for purists.
