Tiger Rag

Postby Roger Hardin » Sun Jul 31, 2011 1:14 pm

I am tired of politics and ready for football. Here is my attempt at Chet's version of Tiger Rag on my Gretsch 6120.

Roger, my favorite aspect of your playing is your "economy of movement". The efficiency of your right hand picking and your left hand fingering blows my mind!I know that I should probably just sit back and close my eyes and listen to the notes and the tone, but since I have a personal goal to make things easier for myself physically when I play, I can't help but to notice when someone is illustrating the reality of this. I already have a version of where those notes are located but you've taken the implementation to a higher level! Thanks for sharing!

That's super, Roger. That's also one of my favorite Chet tunes. That's the first time I have heard you play that.

Thanks,
Richard

Great picking, Roger! A fun tune.

BTW, I'm tired of politics and ready for football, too!

That was great, Roger! And somehow I just knew we'd get a little smile out of you before it was all overwith, LOL. Seriously, I've thought often about learning that one and your video will make it much easier to decipher. Thanks for posting and I'm sure I speak for everyone in saying: give us more! -Thanks, Tom W.
