Sam Kennedy asked that I remove my post so I am. Any further information will have to come from Sam.

I can see that, getting the proper balance on these electric classics is about as important as the tone. I am looking forward to this. Al

Roger, I heard CAAS attendance was very low this year compared to years past. Wonder why??
I my honest opinion CAAS hasn't been the same since Chet past away. It was always exciting to know that Chet was gonna be there Saturday Night. I was a real treat the couple years I attended and they did the "Chat with Chet" meetings....man those were awesome!! But, you always had those ding songs who brought up Lenny and then Chet would get teary.

Hey Phil.......I don't really know the reason why the attendance was off but I suspect the economy was the big reason. I know that money is tight for me but I save all year for CAAS so I can go. I wish I had been at CAAS while Chet was alive but I was really poor back then. I got the next best thing with Paul Yandell though and I have become good friends with him but I really missed him not being there this year. He told me while ago that he did make it there for 30 minutes or so to see the Gretsch exhibit of the new guitar. He said that he is very weak and can't do a lot these days. Let's all put Paul in our prayers and lift him up to Christ.

Roger,
My guess too is the economy for the attendance being off this year. I know that's the reason I didn't make it this year. I need to save up like you so I can make it next year. I'm glad to hear that Paul did get to come and see the Gretsch display. I pray for Paul to be strengthened, be made well and that he will be able to make it to CAAS next year. I'm sure he was really missed this year.
Thanks,

Phil, Roger, & Chck: I also had the feeling that attendance was down this year, but I also heard that numbers were up... from the registration desk.. via Randy Finney... so I'm not sure if it was just a perception thing on my part. I felt they were trying to vary the performances quite a bit this year... i.e. not just the same ole thing.. Certainly "Washtub Jerry" and David Holt with his "Stradivarius Washboard" made for interesting listening!!!
I missed some good friends that didn't make it this year, but all in all it was a great week. I'm looking forward the the National Thumbpicker's Weedend in September. CAAS and that weekend are the two highlights on my musical calendar year. Too bad they fall so close together in the calendar year :(
Big thanks again to George Beasley for posting some fine pictures of the events..
I also saw Paul go into the Broadway Sound vendor room to see the Gretsch exhibit. He really didn't look well, so I would second Roger's sentiment..
Take care. Ron.

How do I get in touch with Sam Kennedy to discuss purchase of his Prismatone pickup?

Thanks,
Robert
