High School Band Not Allowed to Play How Great Thou Art

August 21st, the HIgh School band at Brandon High in Brandon Mississippi wasn't allowed to play their half time show because "How Great Thou Art" was included. U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves issued a court order against prayer, religious sermons or activities in any school sponsored event. The Rankin County School District and the School Board considered a church hymn to be a violation of the judge's order. But a voice in the stands began to sing it, and another joined in, and another, until people throughout the stadium were singing that hymn. Reading about that made me want to play it on the guitar, " How Great Thou Art"

Art, I enjoyed both of these songs. You got a great tone. I always enjoy your playing. Thanks for posting these. Sometimes it takes few moments before a post has been completed and is ready for display. You may have exited before it was finished. I've done that a time or two and had to do it over. I don't know if it's happened to me since they stopped screening them, though.
