A Little Tufur

Sometimes hearing some happy music will make me want to play. That happened here. This little tufur (two for the price of one) came about from me hearing the song Kiss On My List (Hall and Oates), which I always loved. It was so upbeat it made me want to pick it, so my half-ass job of picking it is shown below. Also shown, trailing the Kiss On My List blurb, is a really screwed up rendering of a tune I heard on a commercial many years ago (had a female voice singing da da dada, da da dada, dada dada, ....) It was really catching and also came to mind because of listening to the Hall and Oates thing.

I screwed both up pretty badly, but I figured what the hey: I'll put it out there and if it gives folks an idea or two, then I will have accomplished something.

Bruce, your creativity never ceases to amaze me! I am in awe of folks who have the ability to create interesting fingerstyle arrangements like you do. I am sure you have a gift for this - but I wish for me there was a "formula" I could learn to be able to do the same. All I can do for now is be green around the gills and steal those licks that are in my ability for later inclusion in something I'm learning. Great job sir!!!

Thank you very kindly. I think my "ability" to innovate has to do with liking lots of different music, as illustrated in this little piece. That plus the fact that I am "unafraid" of experimenting, as evidenced by tuning in D but playing in A (something I've done for my past few tunes ... hence, time to tune to something else, probably standard).

Anyway, glad you commented, because it gives me a chance to apologize again for screwing up the second part of the "tune" so badly. I had messed around with doing that little da da tune about a half-dozen different fingerings, and when it came time to record, my fingers couldn't decide which way to go. Shoulda practiced it more, but just ddn't feel like fooling with it, so sorry bout that.
