I became a huge Danny Gatton fan after Guitar Player put one of those flexi-disc records in the magazine back in 87 or 88. I tracked down his vinyl record "Unfinished Business", and was blown away. I don't listen to him much anymore, but when I do it still makes me happy.

I got to meet him after a gig in Nashville (at The ave of Clubs) in 92 or so, and saw him play again at the courtyard at the Metchants Hotel during NAMM week in 93 or 93. Scotty Anderson jammed with him during that she, though the electricity went out for a while. I remember him playing the theme from "Perry Mason", as well as an instrumental version of The Beach Boys' "In My Room". He was a sight to behold.
