Good video.
Strange, was that a pick up wire dangling from the guys strumming hand, behind Jerry?

That's probably a hand held microphone to boost the sound. Jerry is pickin' a Gibson C1-E which had a ceramic pickup, one of the first electric classical guitars (along with the Baldwin classicals) in history. Jerry loved that he could be heard along with the amplified bass and drums. Not much later he switched to his beloved Baldwin classical with piezo pickup.

Maybe that wire was just a broken string? The bass player is Bobby Dyson, one of the late Jim Reeves´ Blue Boys.

Never seen strings with that gauge Vidar ;). I go for a microphone, he holds it the whole time, even when the song is finished. I wouldn't hold a broken string in my hand for that long.

Well, the picture isn´t that sharp, but I guess you´re right. An E-string would have been much stiffer. The wire keeps moving with the strumming hand, and that indicates that it´s a cable from a hand held mike. Funny way to use a microphone. That obviously doesn´t keep the player from having a good time! And a good Christmas time to all of you on the Chetboard!
