Freddie's Web Site... Back??

Postby David Elliott » Wed Dec 12, 2012 9:37 pm

It's been a long time since Freddie's web site (in Russia) changed their format and was only playing "abbreviated" versions of recordings, probably a couple of years or more, so I was pleasantly surprised when I logged on there today and found that it's back to it's original format! I "tested" it, by requesting several albums, and several "single" recordings, and they came up and worked fine! So... thought I would pass that along to the ChetBoard, as I've missed Freddie's site, and am glad it's "back", if it indeed is!

Now, if I'm wrong about this, don't everyone get their shorts in a twist over it, because it could be just a temporary thing! I also notice that he asks for a "donation" on the page, and I think that may have some bearing on why it was "down" for a long period of time, and maybe he's trying to tell us something! :(

You can log on there at: http://jukebox.au.nu/instromania/instro ... et_atkins/

Hi David, That was good news. However, I went on to the site and listened to tracks from 'Chet Atkins Workshop'. Originally ( years ago ) the audio quality of some of the tracks was not good. Now I find that at least half the tracks are not the original ones that I have on my LP, and that I downloaded before. It would be interesting to get some input from other Chetboarders ( are these variations that Chet did at a later date or are they really Chet?) It does sound a lot like him.
Cheers, Charles
