Current bid is $202,50 with still three an a half days ago... What Phil said; it wouldn't surprise me if this one would go for $500+.

Wow....is that real? I wouldn't think that any Chet album would get that kind of price, no matter how rare. That being said, people have different triggers on what is collectible. If it makes them happy, more power to them. The rarest thing I ever had was a copy of "Chet Picks on Jerry Reed", signed by both Chet and Jerry. I gave it away to a friend...and was happy to do so.
Thanks,
George

Bob Key, if the album that you have in your collection is just like this one, it just might be worth something at this moment! :D

I think I will use the picture of it I downloaded and take the tracks off the boxset and have the CD and no pops or clicks and not have my wife divorce me for even mentioning buying a RECORD for $8100.

That is amazing! I wonder who has the original master that was used to press that record?

Imagine what Chet's original solid top Gretsch 6120 is now worth!

Chet's solid top is a guitar one would think would have gone for a really high value. It wasn't cheap but I think it's safe to say the price was a disappointment. I know I expected it to bring a great price, more than it was appraised for.

"....When the guitar got auctioned in 2002 it had been appraised at one hundred thousand dollars but went for significantly less than fifty thousand dollars..."

The "worth" of any item can go drastically up or down at any given time based on who has both the money and the desire to own the item. You see it on ebay all the time. An owner posts a ridiculously high figure because they think it is "worth" that kind of money.

Markets are fickle and the well meaning opinion of people (like me) who don't have the funds to back it up can't be put in the bank.
...that's how it looks to me...The opinion expressed above is my own and does not necessarily reflect the views of this station. Your mileage may vary...

That should do it.

If I had been a rich man, that solid top guitar would have been mine back then.
