Thank goodness for XM radio. Heard this song today for the first time. Knew it was the Louvins when they started to sing. The intro was Chet all the way, but the tone was slightly different. Thought that it might be Paul, but wasn't for sure until I got home this evening. What a treat! Made my day, maybe my month! He definitely nailed Chet's style.
Sorry if this had been posted before. It don't really matter, it's too good!

Re: Louvin Brothers - Hoping That You're Hoping w/ Paul Yand
It says Paul Yandell on the pickguard of his Gretsch 6120 with De Armond pickups - that Chet didn´t like! They have a very sweet and special sound I think. And there´s no need to be sorry for any double posting, this performance cannot be seen too often.

Re: Louvin Brothers - Hoping That You're Hoping w/ Paul Yand
That 6120 he's playing probably still had that "new guitar smell" when that tape was made. Paul modified the heck out of that guitar over time... changing the Bigsby handle, the headstock face and even eventually having a sealed top made for it in Germany when he was in the army.
...that's how it looks to me...The opinion expressed above is my own and does not necessarily reflect the views of this station. Your mileage may vary...
