I'll will admit it now needs a complete fret job but that's 52 years of playing out in clubs and home studio time. It stills plays like a dream with no flat or sharp tunings because of the frets. I also have a Nashville classic 2006 and play it everyday for a couple hours a day and my frets are brand new that's already 6 years of constant daily playing time on it. I hope you didn't fall for that phony story about the frets on your 2009 guitar. The only way the frets could need a fret job is that they where installed with faulty workmen ship at the factory. Just my take on this matter. All the best joe b

The Frets were really bad the first 4 had really deep grooves I called Fender (Gretsch) they would have nothing to do with it I was very upset. I too have a Gretsch 1976 Superchet and I am the orignal owner and the frets look new.The guy working on it said todays guitars use softer metal in the frets to give longer string life and that it is not uncommon with todays guitars ??

I got my guitar back today and I am very happy the guitar actually is staying in tune which it never did the bigsby works great and the frets are smooth and perfect the guitar is a pleasure to play when I got home I didn't want to put it down I played every Chet tune I knew. Thanks again for everyones comments. Ted
