I just wanted to thank you all again for the nice comments. Terry, it always makes me feel good when a fellow picker likes one of my licks well enough to use it. I Am A Pilgrim is another of my all-time favorites, and I have fond memories of Dad playing and singing it, long before I had an interest in picking.

I really can't take credit for these licks, though, as the ghost of Jerry Reed showed them to me. His ghost popped into my living room the other night and said "Hey. Let's pick some." He showed me some cool licks, then he got so engrossed in watching me pick that he missed ghost curfew by 20 minutes.

I "borrowed" that decending lick you do at about 1:13 to segue into "I Am A Pilgrim" and it sounds so natural, that I am going to continue borrow it somewhat long term.

In other words Terry's been stealing from some of the best!

Couldn't agree with you more about Bruce's ability to take a standad that everyone's heard and everyone's played and make it sound fresh.
