New toy - Deering six-string

Postby smokymtguitar09 » Sun May 27, 2012 6:03 am

I have a new toy that I'm pickin' at Smoky Mountain Visitor's Center this weekend. It is a Deering Boston B6 six string banjo. I have about 50 songs that I already play on guitar that are on my list for the banjo. The learning curve is fairly easy for the left hand, and the right hand is beginning to work. The visitors at the Center seemed to enjoy it, so I guess I am safe to keep alternating it in to the program there. "Eight More Miles to Louisville" and "Keep on the Sunny Side" are among my favorites to pick. "Freight Train", "Wabash Cannonball", "I'll Fly Away", and "Jambalaya" are reliable songs to play. "Dueling Banjos" is a regular request which is difficult for solo banjo player, but sometimes I try it.
