6122-1959 HOF on the way :)

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new Gretsch...scheduled to be here on or before next Wed...ordered it from Rocky at Streetsounds....I know I will love this guitar...I used to own the 6122-1959 and it was a wonderful guitar...this one will be the same except orange...something about an orange Gretsch ! I remember buying Chets Christmas album back in the 60s with that orange 6120 against the snow...wonderful shot. Anyway, I just wanted to share my anticipation and excitement over this new guitar with "yous guys"...hey it came from Brooklyn ! :P

Larry, I'm so happy for you here! I hope we can get together again sometime and jam some more. Hopefully, we'll both have more time. I enjoyed our last get-together and I would love to hear how that great guitar sounds when you play it. I still enjoy my guitar. I put the newest version of the sta-tuned fine-tuner on mine, and the tuning sure stays put even when I "dive-bomb" the Chet handle. I've been practicing some on those licks you showed me. Still haven't done much with 'Gallopin Guitar', but I have been working on some new tunes (new to me anyway!)

Hi Terry ! yep I enjoyed our last get-together also...your playing is so smooooth...I just try to play simple and even still struggle with that ...haha....I have been spending many hours daily working on pedal steel guitar...I have been playing pedal since the 60s but since the Phx and the Dallas shows, I have been re-inspired to work some more on it....hopefully this new Gretsch will get me back into Chet-pickin' some more....I would be interested in knowing more about those tuners you mentioned...take care and in the fall when I am in Az lets plan to get together....I enjoyed picking with GAry Smith also...maybe the 3 of us could work something out and find a common meeting place...take care my friend !

Just as a way of follow up, I received the 6122-1959 HOF guitar on Wed. It is truely a stunning guitar visually and with the proper set up it is also a great guitar to play and hear. I dont deserve such a fine instrument, and cant do it justice, as many of you guys on here can, but it is really a great great guitar, and I am proud to own one of them. I would encourage anyone who is thinking of purchasing one to go for it. I dont see how you would be disappointed at all !
