Too many things wrong with that guitar

I'm thinking Chinese knock-off. The bigsby is wrong, the tuners are wrong and the pickups look off I've never seen a name plate like that, either but I haven't seen all the gretsch models

The tuners & Nameplate are right for the early Nashville Classic's. The Bigsby and at least the neck pickup are wrong. It looks to be the body shape from the first batch.

You may be correct, Chuck, and probably are since all new items go through so many minor changes as they 'mature'. Still, the absence of the Super Tron makes it,to me, not a 6122-59 and I would meter that back pickup before I bought it, too.

The description and information is copied directly from the later Nashville Classic/Country Gentleman era, thence the Supertron mistake and different Bigsby handle. This one is said to be a Country Classic 2002 model, pre FMIC guitar. The shoulder seems to be squarer than the vintage and present CG. My Nashville Classic of May, 2003, one of the first ones, has the correct shape. This one doesn´t have to be a fake. It´s probably a transision period product between the Country Classic and Nashville Classic before all the pieces fell into place. Calling Rocky at Street Sounds is a good idea, however. I bought my NC from him.

It's not my call to make since I'm not interested in aquiring the guitar.

My initial trepidation was understandable what with the chinese havng absolutely no conscience about punching out counterfiet stuff.

The 6122-59 had three things otherwise not available anywhere else. The wide neck and the pickups and wiring harness. It looks like whoever owned it before changed the pickups, or at lest one of them above and beyond the transitional initial designs. Were I to buy a 6122-59, a 6122-59 would be what I want, not some guy's odd mod.

Speaking of odd mods, I took a look at this one and wasn't close to biting on it. Some one got it for over $1400. It's quite a story the seller tells in behalf of full disclosure. Check out the photos of the parts in a bag, too.
