Testing a One a Two a Three

Postby keener » Wed Apr 25, 2012 7:22 pm

Today I decided I would get back into playing. It's been a while since I've really done any picking, and I decided I didn't want to lose everything I had built up in playing, so I will be trying to be more interested in picking.

Still don't have anything new worth sharing, although I realize that I did do one tune about a month ago that I haven't shared with you:

It's not a real tune so much as it is me testing out my new computer. Starts out with some Chet-like stuff then goes into some Jerry-like stuff.

It sure ain't anything to write home about, but I thought a few of you might be interested in it.

That was great as always Bruce.. I may not always comment on all your video postings, but I really enjoy them. Keep them coming.. Oh and the new computer seems to be doing a great job of the capture.. Clear and crisp plus good sound :)

Your new computer does your playing justice, Bruce. Good as always.

Ron, Vidar, and Rich: thank you very much, gentlemen!

The webcam in my new computer is HD, whereas the old one was just regular resolution. I was surprised at how much difference it makes in the clarity of the video.

Thanks again

Hi Bruce,

I'm glad to see you once again feel "your old music self" once again. Aside from the improved picture quality, do you think that the sound quality was also improved compared to your old system?

Hey Rande,

Always great to hear from you. I'm not "my old music self" yet, but I've decided to work on it :)

I don't think there is a lot of difference in sound. Some, but not much. The sound quality is still largely determined by the mic, which is the same old $25 Logitech USB mic I've used for the past 5+ years. I guess I should get serious and get a better mic, but this one seems to do okay, and after coughing up the money for the new computer, I'd just as soon hold my expenses down for a while, if I can.

Thanks again
Bruce

As always Bruce, a great job on a great sounding tune. You've got Jerry's style down pat. I'm so happy that there are people such as yourself who are keeping Chet and Jerry's style of music alive.

Thank you very much Joey and Ken.

Ken, yeah, I'll stick a stamp on it and stuff it in the mailbox in the morning :)
