Gretsch country gentleman hall of fame owners problem

Talk about guitars, amps and other gear.

I too just bought one of the misspelled headstock HOF's. Love this guitar. It is from the second batch. I emailed Gretsch (Fender) support to see if they will send me a spell-checked plate.

Is it true that there will be only the two batches of 20 made of these?

John,
They are made in Japan.

woodsongman,
I was told that there would be a total of 70/72 of the HOF model made. You might ask Joe Carducci for an update on that.
Thanks,

Thanks John. I once owned 76 Gretsches that were mostly Brooklyn and a little Baldwin-era and this guitar plays better than any of them! Thanks for the batch totals too!

I can agree 100%! I too have owned a LOT of old Gretsch guitars but this HOF is the best one I have ever played. Paul told me that the initial plans were for Gretsch to make these in batches of approx. 16 guitars at a time, and that they would make them during the time that Chet's exhibit was on display at the HOF in Nashville - - then, there would be no more made after that. However, that conversation took place about one year ago, so I have no idea if Gretsch will hold to initial thinking or if possibly this will be a guitar they will add to their on-going production line (?) These guitars could very well turn out to be scarce commodities on down the road if they indeed hold to their original plan of making only 70/72 of them . . . . I'd say, if you want one, you better jump on it quickly.

My spell-checked placard arrived about a week ago. A big thanks to Joe C.

He must be mad at you Mitch. Personally, I'm mad at you for selling that Jet. I was planning to take it off you in a rigged poker game. :)

Ah yes, the American way.. Capitalism at it's finest. Hey, get whatcha can get I suppose. But for owners with the 'wrong' plate, they know they will be getting the corrected one soon...so I don't see who is gonna buy this ?

Synchro, I'm sure I'll get more enjoyment out of the new Duane Eddy than the Jet. It WAS very cool and only 16 made with that flame top...but rather see it get played than stored away in my closet.

I don't really have much need for one myself but lordy, they are pretty and a beautiful match for the wood on the HOF.
