Reverb pedal

Postby Steve Sanders » Sun Mar 25, 2012 3:00 pm

I know this subject has probably been beat-to-death already but I'm might'a missed something! What kind / brand of reverb pedal do fellow Chetboarders recommend these days? I have an old Fender Virbro Champ that has real nice tremelo / vibrato but no reverb. I have a DigiTech RP50 but it's a little noisy and has a lot of stuff I don't ever use. Maybe just a dedicated reverb pedal with maybe options for plate, spring, etc. settings would be nice. I have one recommendation for a ZoomA2 and would like a few more options and opinions. Thanks, Steve

Paul Yandell recommended a Boss RV5 to me right after I got my new amp. I already had the Lexicon that I was using for reverb, so I never did try it, but if Paul recommended it...

I just went to my local music store and bought a used echo pedal they had. I don't particularly care for reverb per-se as delivered by the spring pan units. Just a little subtle echo is good enough for me. Which one is best? Ask the guy in the music store.

I don't obsess about those kind of things because you get tempted to think "Gee...I'll sound better if I get one of these things."

Maybe.

But picking up the guitar and practicing more is the only thing that will really make you sound better.... The gadget (like a Bigsby) or that great sounding pedal do help but they all sound better when a well seasoned player uses them.
...that's how it looks to me...The opinion expressed above is my own and does not necessarily reflect the views of this station. Your mileage may vary...

That should do it.

Steve -
I use the Zoom A2.1u, a good product - reverb, delay, phase, etc with a volume/effect pedal controller:

Also have a Boss RV3 with both delay and reverb - a rare one, no longer made, but you can find used ones around $100:

Other ChetBoarders have raved about the '65 Fender Reverb pedal:

Any of these would go well with that new amp of yours!
