When I got my NC in 2005, it had the stationary bracket. I fiddled with the arm, and bent it to where I liked it. It worked well for FingerStyle, but if you want to play rock or country where you do more strumming, it just isn't practical for me. After trying a fixed Travis Handel, I switched over to a Duane Eddy handle on the NC, and am happy. I've got the Chet handle swivel on my CGP, and am very happy. It's whatever works for you. Cliff Gallup used a flat, fixed handel on his Duo Jet, and played rock just fine...so what do I know.

I guess that's why there are so many different bracket/handle combinations and so many different guitar models. As my guitar teacher used to say years ago: "Different strokes for different folks"

George, I used to see Cliff Gallup, after his Gene Vincent time, playing locally in a group called Carolina Charlie and the 4 C's and he played with his double cutaway Gretsch Country Gent and it had the moveable arm on it. He was one of those guys who could use what ever he had to in order to get his sound. Cliff was a great stylist, and influenced many great players. You are very lucky to have seen him.

You are right about that Mike, Warp Drive Music, aka Cream City Music treated me right and gave me a very good deal on my guitar. If anyone is interested in one of these Hall of Fame Country Gentleman guitars give Ben Derickson a call. I see that they already sold one of the 4 on Ebay.

Did you have to bend the whammy bar or was it ok?

I installed my stationary bracket today, and yes I did have to bend the Bigsby arm just slightly to get it exactly the way that I wanted it. It didn't take much it was pretty close on this one.

I like the stationary bracket and use it on my guitars but I do have to admit you can get a better vibrato effect with the swivel bracket. Al

That seems odd since there is the possibility of more play in the swivel arm whereas the stationary bracket and handle all the motion goes directly to the string bar.
