Placing pedals where they can be reached - not on the floor

All this talk just reminded me of some burned out Guitarzan who'd brought in an ancient Gibson amp back in the 70s, looking to trade it in for something 'er other.

Keep in mind that back in those days there were only a small handful of pedals & effects such as MXR, Electro Harmonix, Vox Cry Baby and Morley.

Well, this guy had one of each -NAILED to the top of the amp, held in place with Plumber's Tape, ya know, metal strapping with holes every half-inch or so for mounting drain pipe . . .

After about five minutes he had 7 or 8 people standing around it, biting their tongues ta keep from bustin' up laughing. By that time he was on his hands and knees fishin' for picks, loose change, bottle caps, ringos and whatever else he could find inside it.

After he got his last handful, he stood up, adjusted his hat and said: "OK Boys, who's gonna be the high bidder here?" Well, that's all it took; everyone, including me, was laughin' SO HARD that one old-timer almost choked on his teeth ! ! !

Boss GS-10 has the same as a floor model GT-8. I bought 2 the last one for $100. A VG-99 has all the stuff too but will cost over $1000. I tweaked a VG-99 with synth to get a DelVecio sound.

Line 6 PODs work but aren't tweak friendly.

I don't feel so lonely about getting effects off the floor now they are actually making effects with "convenient table top design".

JJ, can you make a number of complicated setups on the Boss GS-10 and store them for easy recall, or do you have to tweak everything every time you change songs?

Did a quick check on the Roland VG-99 which you mentioned and and see an MSRP of $1700. WOW Think I'll stick with my GR-09 for a bit longer. I looked up the VG-99 on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkrJuzHY2O4) and if you can put up with the distortion, found a number of interesting features like the photoelectric beam to change parameters, well you gotta see it (if you can stand the awful sounds).
