Originator of regional thumbpicking clubs dies
July 10, 2000
Tuck Raisor, the man who started the Kentucky thumbpickers club, died Saturday morning, July 8, 2000.
Tuck's efforts set in motion the creation of many regional Thumbpicking clubs that have promoted the playing
style of Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, Paul Yandell, Jerry Reed and others.
He was an enthusiastic and inspiring player and fan, and he will be greatly missed. Tuck's wife Alice noted Tuck's great desire for the Kentucky club to continue as usual after his passing. For information on the club or more details on Tuck, visit the Kentucky Thumbpickers page.
