My father Manuel always played songs for me on the Classical Guitar but it was Chet who I first heard playing more popular arrangements back in the mid 70's using complete arrangements for one guitar. This inspired me to arrange simple tunes like Scarborough Fair, Greensleeves, El Paso, If I Were a Rich Man etc. I wasn't able to meet him in person until 1995 when I finally made it to the CAAS Festival and was introduced by either Mark Pritcher or Marcel Dadi in his back room he goes to after his concert. I was very proud to meet him and had our picture taken together. I look forward to playing the CAAS Festival every year.
