Raspail in the Morning

Here's another duet with my friend Emily Thomas on violin.

The tune is an original "musette" style instrumental, Raspail in the Morning. The title was supplied by my friend Peter S. Beagle, author of The Last Unicorn.

Thanks guys. Both Emily and myself noticed a few *cringe* moments in the performance, but hey, if you didn't notice, we won't tell.

I played the tune for Peter B. not long after I had written it, when it still didn't have a name. He said "That sounds like Raspail in the morning." I said "Okay... what's that?" He said it was the district in Paris where he lived for a while as a young writer. So, "Raspail" it is.
