Custom Truss Rod Cover For My HOF Country Gentleman

Postby guitarchuck » Thu Aug 02, 2012 9:27 pm

I thought I would show off my custom truss rod cover that I just got for my Hall of Fame Country Gentleman. I finally found a place that could make one to my satisfaction. I tried a local engraving shop at the mall, but that turned out terrible. I'm really pleased with this place that made this one. I don't know if anyone else would even be interested or not, but I thought I would post a couple of photos of my new truss rod cover: (photo's are not the best, cell phone camera)

That is really neat Chuck. I would like to have one for my 2010 CG. I wonder if there would be a market for those. Maybe a business idea for you.

Bill,
I guess it's okay to post this. I have no business interest in this. I don't know anything about the seller other than the fact that they did a great job making mine. Here's the Ebay listing:

Mine was made using font "D": Brush Script MT. You need to take the measurements of your truss rod cover to make perfectly sure it is the exact same size. Not all Gretsch truss rod covers are the same size.
Thanks,

That looks very nice, Chuck. That just gave me an idea for truss rod covers for my Gretsch guitars. BTW, looks like the guy that did yours did a very nice job, but there is also a fellow over on the Gretsch Pages, long time member Paul Setzer, that does truss rod covers, pick guards and the like. And, his work is exceptional also. I think I know what to put on mine now, so I'll give Paul a jingle.

Richard,
Post some photos when you get yours made. This is a easy and reversible mod. It gives a guitar a personal touch whatever you choose to put on it. I put the original truss rod cover in the guitar case pocket.
