Chet's practice habits

I thought of a question today as I was playing my HOF Country Gentleman:

Did Chet have a particular guitar that he did most of his practice on, or did he use whatever guitar was handy at the time?

I sure do miss Paul Yandell. I was sure thinking, "I wish Paul was still here so I could ask him this."

Not that it really matters, I was just wondering. Maybe someone here knows. Perhaps John Knowles could shed some insight.

He had a couple on stands upstairs (meaning not in the basement studio) There is a picture Leona took of him having fallen asleep with a classical in his lap. He lived a long time in that house. He probably rotated them. I would expect one would be some form of wide necked Gretsch that he could play unplugged while watching TV. I doubt he kept his '59 or D'Angelico on a stand upstairs. Too risky for knocking over.

Marie said of Paul:
"...He always kept a couple of guitars that he loved playing on a daily regular basis on guitar stands in the living room so that he could pick them up at any time when he was sitting around to play. He was very comfortable playing wherever and whenever he felt like .."

It was probably the same at Chet's house.

In MAMG, Chet talked about playing a Michael Dunn Selmer style guitar. He said the action was high, and it was good for getting his hands back into shape. Romane later played the guitar during a performance, and commented that the guitar was " formidable".
