Gretsch 6122-1959 HOF owners ?

Postby Larry Lenhart » Mon May 14, 2012 7:47 pm

Just curious how many of you actually own one of these limited run (supposedly 75) models ? I heard from a dealer that Fender actually cancelled the production of them, so I dont know if 75 were even made. To me, they seem to be the perfect guitar...and orange :) I used to own one of the 6122-1959s and it was a great great guitar IMHO...so I am about to make the plunge for one of these HOF models.

a bigger body 17" as opposed to the 16" 6122-1959....and orange

Larry, The 6122-1959 has a 17" body, not 16". The New Gretsch G6122-1959HOF Chet Atkins Hall of Fame Country Gentleman is the exact same guitar as the G6122-1959 Nashville Classic / Country Gentleman except for the following features:

Color: Orange.
f-holes: Trimmed in white.
Nameplate reads: Chet Atkins Hall of Fame Country Gentleman.

Oh, yes, I have the HOF CG. I love it!
Thanks,

Larry, I also own one of these (a first batch run, mine had the correct name plate). It is the best guitar I ever owned, and that covers a lot of terrotory. If I were you, I'd jump on it quickly, you never know when the availability will dry up.

I also have one out of the first batch, and also love it ! And to go along with other posts here, I agree that if anyone wants one, do not hesitate to grab it.

Well, I ordered mine today from streetsounds in Brooklyn. It is scheduled to arrive next Wed, so obviously I am anxiously awaiting for its arrival. I had the 6122-1959, and sold it due to some financial issues at that time, but now those are resolved. :) So I know how they sound and play...I agree with someone who said its the best guitar he owns.

Got mine today from Jimmy and Eric at Guitar Emporium (Louisville,KY). I have played everything and this is the best sounding/looking guitar I have touched in 40 plus years, bar none :D And only 75 of them? WOW!
