I'd love to know who the person is that has these Country Music Holiday Shows. Here's a very young Tommy Jones.

I had a Country Gentleman exactly like the one he's playing... sold it a little over two years ago to pay for my Nashville Classic. It was a decent playing & sounding guitar for a Baldwin era Gretsch but, the 1.625" nut width drove me crazy. Just two tight and I could never get used to it. Anyway, that sure was great pickin' for a 12-year-old! -Tom W.

Wow...that's a video of Tommy I've never seen before!

This was recorded about the time I first heard of Tommy from a picking buddy of mine in Denver. He had gone on vacation down to Florida and told me I wouldn't believe this kid he had heard down there!

I'm not sure, but it looks like Tommy is using a straight pick here...of course this tune is mostly single note picking anyhow. Boy, this would have been about 45-48 years ago...time moves on!

What a amazing player Tommy was, a prodigy for sure! The uploader said he has more videos of Tommy playing on the Wally Fowler show. Tommy is than 13 years old. He's uploading it soon.

Phil, you manage to find the videos that I never see anywhere else. Including the footage that I've taken of Tommy myself, I thought I had the most inclusive collection possible, but this one proves me wrong! Tommy played this for me many times but never with a straight pick. In fact, I never saw him play with a straight pick. He told me that he began playing fingerstyle at about 12 but I didn't know he was this good going into it. Thanks for sharing this!
