Paul Yandell was as classy a gentleman as was his playing. Never met him face to face but had the privilege to exchange some emails with him. For someone of his stature, he was as down to earth and helpful as if he'd been my friend for years. Such generosity of spirit and massive talent are a combination we don't see much. He and Chet Atkins were a perfect match and it showed in their playing and the legacy they've left us.

I always liked the sound and look of that Gibson Paul is playing. I think I heard him say it was made in the Custom shop... a thicker version of the Country Gentleman, the sides in the style of the old Super Chet. Thanks for the post, good to see it again.

Indeed. Paul's playing is as near to Chet as it's gonna get I think. I like the fat tone he gets on these vids.

I think those are Ray Butts pickups on that guitar. It sure sounds great, and Paul sure made it look easy.

Thanks for the post Eddie. It's great to watch Paul again! As always, he plays beautifully on this one. From the finger pickers around my area; we sure miss Chet, Jerry and Paul and we appreciate the opportunity to see any of their video's. Jim
