"Summertime" (by Keener)

My solo rendering of the Jerry Reed arrangement of Summertime, which was recorded by Jerry, Chet Atkins and Pat Burgeson. Of course I do some arranging of my own, but most of the stuff is stolen from their recording.

Bruce,

You're a great thief, and I mean that in the best way sir! You're very inventive. I have watched all of your videos, and I enjoy them all, but I just happened to notice your pick. Is that a Fred Kelly? That is what I use and I really like them. Keep up the great stuff!

Thank you kindly, Terry!

While I also love the Fred Kelly slick picks, I've mostly been using the Herco Flat Thumb picks for some time. I still use the Fred Kelly's from time to time, but mostly use the Herco's, which I used on this recording. I began using them when Paul Yandell mentioned in a thread on this board that these were his favorite picks. I use the heavy gauge, while Paul preferred the Extra Heavy (which I have not tried). They give a little more clear bass than the Fred Kelly's do (that is the Fred Kelly's produce a slightly more mellow sound). They take a little getting used to, but it didn't take me too long to learn to like them.

Here's where I ordered my set: http://www.suncreekmusic.com/dunlop-dun ... p-390.html

I do not necessarily recommend suncreekmusic over Musician's Friend or anyone else ... I think it's the link that Paul referenced in his post. I don't do a lot of online ordering so I really haven't developed a preference for where to buy picks and other accessories. I do prefer juststrings.com for strings, though.

Thanks again
Bruce
