Floyd Cramer's grandson

Floyd Cramer's piano styling was a key part of the Nashville Sound of the '60s that Chet Atkins and Owen Bradley developed. Both producers, Chet at RCA and Owen at Decca (MCA), had him playing on many of the hit records they produced. Of course Floyd became a star himself beginning with his hit "Last Date" in 1960. Chet, Floyd, and Boots Randolph toured together for awhile.

Floyd Cramer's grandson Jason is carrying on his grandfather's music, and he sounds great playing not only Floyd's hits but others records where you heard Floyd's signature style.

All I can say is WOW ! ! !

I don't know about you guys, but I just CAN'T get into this NEW (OVER-PRODUCED SHAKE YER ASS) SO-CALLED COUNTRY MUSIC . . .

I think if he holds true to his grandfather's style, keeping up on QUALITY MATERIAL that comes along, HE'LL DO GREAT ! ! !

Apparantly you 3 do not attend CAAS. Jason has appeared for several years and tours with Chet's great neice Megan Taylor. I have all of their individual and together cd's. Nice music for my office as is Chet, Duane Eddy, Richard Kiser, the Shadows and more.

Posting this particular video presentation has nothing to do with whether or not I attend CAAS. I thought the production, especially the footage at Jason's young age along with his playing, would be of interest and enjoyable on the Chetboard. I also posted it on Facebook for those who know nothing about the CAAS or the Chetboard but who might also enjoy it like I did.

It is great that Jason has become a regular at CAAS. He not only plays and sounds like his grandfather, but is a very talented young gentleman in his own right.

Thanks

Don't worry Ronnie.
People get too uptight on here.
I hope to get to CAAS this year. I hope to hear him play.

Sorry for sounding snobbish about CAAS. The real point is he tours with Chet's great niece Megan Tayor.

Bill,
Not a problem. I hope to eventually return to the convention and enjoy the live performances and meet old and new guitar friends. July is a busy month for my regional performances that conflict with the CAAS dates. Mark Pritcher and CAAS put on an incredible show.
Thanks

I miss that style of playing and I'm glad it's back. I'm so happy that Floyd's grandson Jason is keeping his music alive!
