I'm sure most of us are familiar with at least several of Don McLean's songs, because of course Chet recorded some of them..."And I love her so" being one of them (with Perry Como), and of course, "Vincent"! Apparently Chet thoght very highly of him also.

I've always considered Don to be a very talented individual, and perhaps even a genius at writing lyrics! The man is most definitely a Deep Thinker, that's for sure!

Parts of the song remind me of Vincent and even a little of American Pie. It's a very pretty song.

Thanks for that David... Funny, I was thinking the same thing Bill, but I guess when you have written an all time classic like Vincent, your music will forever be tied to it. I guess it's like type casting in the acting world.
