They should have the complete Dave Garroway Show on file. These 3 clips were made from the master clip:

Apparently something went wrong when they uploaded the master clip. They only got the very end of the show online. Look at the left hand column. It shows the "Derived Clips" that came from the master clip.

I just went to CBS "video archives" and then ABC "video archives" and it looks like they all have an archive library of videos available going back years!

I haven't even looked at this one yet, (from 1956) but it says that one of the performing guests is "CHET ATKINS"!

Also features Cousin Minnie Pearl and Rod Brassfield, Buddy Ebsen, and the Collins kids! Now that's going back a while!

Chet plays "Poor People of Paris" on the Finger Style Guitar sealed top 6120. Video is not as good as the Dave Garroway show, but he plays like Chet always does. Nice find!

I acquired this same show on dvd, right after it was uploaded.

Thanks so much for putting that clip up. I daresay nobody was playing that kind of music then. Only Chet, it must have amazed most people then and it still sounds so good to me now. Of course I never could have played at that level much less be original in my approach to guitar. I don't think he had accompaniment on that yet it sounded so full and lush.
