I was a sophomore in high school when Chet played Dave Garroway's Show. I had three albums and several singles including "Poor People of Paris." I missed it then but tonight, I am seeing Chet through a teenager's eyes. John

I have been looking for this for years. Now if we could get NBC to let us or the fan club purchase it without the NBC watermark that would be the icing on the cake.
I wrote to NBC about a year ago heard nothing and gave up.

It would really be nice if we could see the complete show. Here's the text listed from the 2 clips:
Title: Today Show 4-5-1957 7am
CHET ATKINS TELLS DAVE HE LIKES TO PERFORM THE HOLD STANDARDS BEST. HE PERFORMS THE DUKE ELLINGTON STANDARD "CARAVAN." HE ACCOMPANIES HELEN O'CONNELL ON ONE SONG. NICE SIDE VIEW SHOWS ATKINS PERFORMING AS THE TODAY CAST & CREW ARE SEEN IN THE BACKGROUND LISTENING & MOVING TO THE MUSIC.
GUITARIST CHET ATKINS PERFORMS AND IS INTERVIEWED BY DAVE GARROWAY. ATKINS SAYS HE LIKES TO PLAY THE OLD STANDARDS BECAUSE HE CAN DO MORE WITH THEM. HE PLAYS "POOR PEOPLE OF PARIS." AMPLIFIER IS SEEN. ATKINS EXPLAINS HOW HE GETS AN ECHO EFFECT. HE BRIEFLY PLAYS SOME BACH AND ANOTHER TUNE.

GOOD FIND CHUCK!! I didn't see Blue Ocean Echo on there. Just a note....I don't think you can view these on iphones, ipad, or itouch...I tried to open it. Darn Apple and Adobe flash...I wished they'd figure out a deal, I hate going to see a video online and not being able to open it up on my itouch.
Well Eddie, looks like we'll have to snag this video the ol' redneck way.
By the way Eddie, did you see those 16mm film prints for sale on ebay of the IN CONCERT 1975 show with Chet,Jerry,Charlie Pride,Dolly Parton. It'd be nice to get those and have them transferred to dvd. I have never seen that show, but always wondered what it was like to watch it.

What a treat to be able to view these files! Are any of you going to try to contact the site for the full video? It sure looks like it is there somewhere and even though it says not available for purchase online I bet it can be had with a little looking into.....
What a nice version of Blue Ocean Echo..... I would love to hear & see The Poor People of Paris clip. Nice find for sure, Thanks for sharing

I have emailed them and and waiting for a response. Hoping to get the entire show on DVD
if they will do it. The website says they work with requests from individuals as a courtesy.
We'll see how it goes.

Phil I have a 16mm projector. I placed a bid on the Jerry Reed clip.
You want to bid on the Chet one. I have never seen Jerry do Lord Mr Ford live.

That is so cool to see this,
I never realised that in ''Poor of people of paris'' Chet was keeping the D note on the G string with his index
with the main melody that make a big difference for the voicing line.
Also I like the close up of the bigsby arm it fit perfecly between the pots, bridge and the pickguard.
Thanks a million for that find!
I was not there but these videos make me feel like I was

Love these clips. Thanks so much for the links.
Phil, I saw most of the "In Concert" episode when it was aired. That was what, about 1974 or '75? I remember Chet with a Dorado guitar (I think) and his Super Chet, and Jerry standing next to an old Ford singing "Lord, Mr. Ford." The album came out a few months later, and I bought a copy at the drug store. (Anybody else remember the record jobber racks at grocery and drug stores?)
I used to sit in front of the TV set with my Panasonic cassette recorder and record Chet and Jerry's performances.
