First youtube attempts

I got a new digital camera around Christmas and I wanted to see if it could capture my new 6122-1959. Unfortunately it doesn't pick up the sound so well. But here's two videos anyway. I've been playing guitar for awhile now but it's been the past month that I've just decided to finally learn how to do this thumbpicking thing. I turned 30 this week and I feel like it was just yesterday when I was in Jr. High when I started playing rock guitar. The thumpick still feels a little ackward and I think it shows. But I'm open to suggestions.

Video recording is hard for me because
I keep going back and redoing it.

You're doing fine. Training your thumb to operate a thumbpick is not easy, at least it wasn't for me. Actually I'm still working on it after two years. You're young, you'll learn quickly. You're off to a great start.

Btw, I'm no great shakes at any of this but I use a $40 Logitech web cam for video, for sound I go from my amp to a small mixer & from there to the mic input on my confuser. My pickin' still sounds mediocre (because it is) but the sound quality is decent. KOP

That´s not bad at all, especially if you´re not used to a thumb pick. As for the sound, get a stereo microphone and connect it to the "in" socket of your camera and place it in front of your amp. I suppose a new camera will have either an "in" or a dedicated mike socket. I bought the Canon MD 110 digital video camera a few years ago because it had the external mike option. Other cameras only had the onboard mike, and that wasn´t good enough. You may also connect the camera´s "in" socket to your amp´s "out" socket with a suitable cable.
