Apologies to Silent Night..
Posted: Fri Dec 17, 2010 10:47 amThis was recorded while kids were playing in the background so it's anything but silent, but I wanted to share the general arrangement that Craig Dobbins gave us back in '03/04 -ish at CAAS.
It was a straight chord melody with some nice voicings but I've taken considerable liberties with the right hand by using broken arpeggios and brushes instead of the more chord-melody style. Also, I nicked Chet's A7 to Dmaj7/D7 passage.
So, it's only about 5% me here but for 30 seconds or so, it's somewhat holiday-ish.
