Goodbye My Blue Bell (On My ES125T)

Last weekend I rediscovered an old guitar I have had for several years. It is a 1958 (I think) Gibson ES125T. The old guitar is in pretty good shape and still has the original alligator print cardboard case, which shows the years of wear. The P90 pickup naturally reminds me of Merle Travis, so I put new strings on it and recorded one of my favorite Travis tunes,
Goodbye My Blue Bell. Now, I am not a very good Travis style player, but I sure enjoyed hearing this old guitar being recorded. I hope you enjoy it.

Richard, this was so cool. You really got that P-90 sound and it was great. Thanks for sharing this one...one of my favorites.

I played that through the 25L15 amp that Bud Park built for me. The Parkel #7. I will always be grateful to Bill for mentioning me to Bud, and certainly to Bud whose skill and attention to detail is quite uncommon nowadays. Owning an amp like this is one dream I never thought would be fulfilled.
There is always a mystique with those old guitars. You wonder what stories they could tell. I really appreciate you all listening and for all of the nice comments. Thank you very much.

Richard, You surely must know this situation is totally your fault! You play so well that the only comments folks can make are the nice ones. You sound good no matter what guitar you pick up. Chet was often accused of that very same thing! Go figure!

Thank you, Terry. I am nowhere near Chet's skill level, but he certainly provides a lot of inspiration. He was in a class all by himself. That "Yellow" album that Merle Travis did, The Guitar Of Merle Travis, has some of the clearest and cleanest tones of any album ever, imo. Travis had a thumb like no other.
