Late 2021 and new 2022 Country Gentleman 59's

I'm about to buy a brand new Country Gentleman 6122-T59 for $3,500 from Sweetwater. Does anyone know if they are just as good as the old ones, any changes, etc.? (It comes with a case too). Also, what is the best amp to buy nowadays that closely resembles Chet's sound?

Mine is from 2012 or 2013 I don't remember exactly, however a really great guitar.
I also managed to find a real 1960s supertron that I installed in place of the jones tv.
A really great instrument, essential for anyone who loves Chet and his music.

I bought a brand new 6122-1959 from Sweetwater for a little less than that in Feb. 2020, just 1 month before the Covid lockdown. I already had a '67 CG and was attracted to the idea that the new ones were built to the exact specs of Chet's 1959 model, thanks to Paul Yandell. I believe that you'll love it!

One possible difference, and I may be totally wrong, but have they changed the fret sizes? Looking at Sweetwater's site, it says 'vintage small'. And yet I think the older versions had medium jumbo? All depends on your preferences of course.

I think they use Lacquer on them now, that's a good idea. I think they resonate better with Lacquer. Albert

I had a 2005 6122 1959 - Nashville Classic and really liked it. It was a great guitar. I got it used through the Guitar Center. You can also find new and used ones at Reverb.com for less than $3500 and that includes shipping. Check it out. Hope you enjoy yours.
