I'm thinking it might be a Deluxe Chet which was a less fancy Super Chet
Like the difference between a country gentleman and a 6120
I went over to the gretschpages and another guy thought the same thing.
Rare enough guitar. I've never seen one. The Super Chets never took off. Most people stuck with 6120's and 6122's and now with the 6122-59

Just so the chetboader's know...
So far the concensius at gretschpages seems to lean toward a country gent body and a Deluxe Chet neck/fingerboard with layered Super tron pickups... some sort of one-off guitar.

That's not a Super Chet. Looks more like a custom shop 70's Country Gent or a Viking. Although Gretsch Vikings had a tuning fork mechanism right before the bridge. Most Country Gents had some sort of Chet name on them. This one doesn't have Chet's signature on the pickguard or the headstock plate.
I always hated the look of the 70's Country Gents with the open f-holes and the squared off pickguard.

last time I looked some of the gretschpagers talso hought 'variation on the Viking' also.
Apparently the original owner lived close to the factory and had some cred as a performer.
Since it did have a model number it was possibly part of a short run of Viking variant that never got into full production.
The Baldwyn people really didn't know much about guitars and when they took the company over they lost most of the core New York crew.
I agree about the Gents with open f holes. That was one of the reasons the country gentleman came into being...Chet wanted a sealed body but, again, the suits at Baldwyn were not the brightest about guitars

Looks like a 'variant' of the Gretsch model 7660 Nashville to me.
