Shoot....I remember when I was hot on the trail lookin for one of these, a 174 and a 177 both sold for over $500 each on ebay 2 or 3 years ago. Guys like Phil, me, Hendrik, Bill Parks.....and almost every other Reed fan is what drives the price up on these......supply and demand......theres way more demand than supply....and like Phil always says..."these guitars aint worth it!"

Well, I've had 3 or 4 of these over the years, but I sold them all for $50 - $200. Hardly "driving up the price"! You're right, they're not worth much more than that (unless 2 buyers on Ebay REALLY want it...!).
