The Chetboard

Awhile back I saw a photo I think of Paul Yandell maybe here on the Chetboard with a pickup that was half Supterton and half Filtertron with the Supertron on the bass side and the Filtertron on the treble side. I was wondering about the response of this pickup arrangement. What was the intent of this design? Just wondering if anyone has played thru one or has heard one. Very interesting! If Paul had anything to do with it then it had to be good!! Steve

Apparently, TV Jones is actually making a pickup now that is based on Paul's idea. He had a couple of them at CAAS, and they had Paul's name on them. Not sure what the story is or when they will be available. I saw them after the Saturday night concert when he was showing them to Marie.

The pickups that Tom (TV Jones) had were prototypes based on Paul's design. He brought them to CAAS to show the Yandell family and myself. The bars (SuperTron) are under the treble side, and the screws (FilterTron) are under the bass side. The idea is to give a bigger note on the trebles, and have more control on the basses. It's a very sweet sounding pickup. I'm sure there will be an announcement when they're released.
