Well the Mrs and i were thinking we might take an Holiday in the U.S. Southern States(?) next year(elderly parents health permitting), i've been to Nashville for a holday 20 years back and i guess things have probably changed some since then....So to take in some picking and perhaps meet up with some of the expert pickers and try and take in some pointers, where would you suggest we go, i might even try and smuggle a Gretsch back(in pieces of course  )
So we're open to ideas and suggestions, don't mind going off the beaten track a bit.....not looking for lights and glitz....Just a question about CAAS is everywhere always packed and no where to stay etc?
Anyone any ideas....
If this is in the wrong section please move it or delete, i didn't really know which section to put it...
Thanks
Rob(uk) :D

Re hotels for CAAS. The Sheraton (where the convention is held) always seems to have a special rate for attendees, but you should book early. There really is no down side if you cancel. Just do it 48 hours before your check-in date.
There are lots of other hotels around the convention site. Some are within walking distance. Most are quite acceptable and they are plentiful enough that you would always be able to get something. I've stayed at the Alexis Hotel for the past 5 years, but there current prices are just about as much as the Sheraton special price!! However, the prices change all the time... especially if you are booking through a travel agency like travelocity. Anyway, If you have never been to CAAS you will really enjoy it. :)
