Hello! I have been recruited by my father to help sell one of his guitars. Either of us know much except for it is a 1984 Gibson Chet Atkins CE nylon string Acoustic/Electric. The guitar is in mint condition; my father takes very, very good care of his guitars. Can anyone steer my in the direction of what it is worth? I tried doing some research online but non are for sale. I was able to source one that sold in 2007 for $1,725 that was in similar condition to my dad's. Is that about right or have these appreciated in value? I as thinking it is in the $1,800-$2,000 range. Some photos are below. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have one that is pretty much identical. It is one year older... 1983.. Mine is not in mint condition, but has other features that don't normally come on that guitar.. Like an ebony fretboard.. I know what I paid for mine and it was less than what you are hoping to get.. The CE is probably the least expensive of the Gibson Chet Atkins solid body electrics. I think the CEC which has a wider ebony fretboard commands a bit more money on the used market, but the Chet Atkins Studio models usually sell for quite a bit more than either the CE or CEC models.
However, your guitar looks great and if it catches someones eye... then you will certainly get a good buck for it. Perhaps if you contact Elderly Instruments or Gruhn Guitars in Nashville they could give you a better idea. You could sell it on consignment at a good music store, but of course they would take their percentage of the sale.. I'm not a big fan of Ebay these days!! but you can also do an advanced search of completed listings... My Humble Opinions...
Good luck.

Most 80's CE,s go for $1,300 to $1,800 in very good condition some people let them go for a lot less, And You know what You want out of it. So if time's not a factor keep it listed someone may be looking for that model and give you your asking price.
