Interesting...

It looks a lot like "gel wraps" offered at the average nail salon. I've never had it done, but it looks in general like what I've seen my wife have done at the nail shop.

Seems like a good idea if you don't want to pay someone else to do the job for you.

I personally hate gels.. Most of them smell up the place and just don't come out smooth and professional looking. This product may be different, but I'm not going to pay that much money to find out... However, that being said, I'm always interested in new ideas and approaches, so thanks for posting... I personally just use a double thickness of the Kiss full nail cover.. cheap and not so clean, but they are smooth and there is NO smell or ugly things to inhale!!! I have breathing problems, so I don't need the extra stress on my respiratory system. Happy New Year to Y'all..

Ron - I am interested in your method as well. Awhile back I tried to use the Kiss active oval nails - which fit my nails really well. I did not super glue them on - but I used a glue dot so as you can remove them easy. It worked nicely EXCEPT for within about 2-3 hours I wore a groove into the nail. I did not double up the nail though. Do you have wear problems with these nails? Are you using the active ovals?

What I've been using for some time now is the Kiss full cover nails.. They come in a box of 100 with the glue. I think these are them http://www.amazon.com/Kiss-Full-Cover-Nails-Active/dp/B000QM5QVU
I usually buy mine at walmart but they are sold by most drugstores.. What I do is just glue one on each nail then glue another on top of the first one.. I usually put the second one out slightly so I can use an emery board to make a smooth bevel up from the cuticle.. Then I get a course emery board and just shape the end to my liking.. That usually means taking about 1/8 of an inch (or more) off while shaping it.. Then I buff it with a fine emery board and I'm good to go. If you don't double them up, they will pop off because of flexing... They will also wear too fast if not doubled up. They usually stay glued on firmly until I stupidly catch my nail on something. I that case I just re-glue it back on. The top nail has never become separated from the bottom nail! They usually last me about a month. In that time they have grown out and/or worn down enough to merit putting new ones on.
Caution... Don't buy the square tipped ones... Get the ones that are shaped just like your natural nail.. They call them OVAL Shaped

It's a bit off topic but I never understood the current popularity of square tipped nails on women. In the 'good old days' I always thought the idea of longish, rounded or nearly pointed nails on a woman was to make the fingers look longer and tapered. The square ends make the fingers look like toes.

I feel ever so much better getting that off my chest...

Totally agree with you, Norm. I just don't get it with the square nails, but maybe I'm missing something that women know about.

As far as fingerpicking, I have pretty good nails. However, I keep a set of the Kiss press on (self-adhesive) nails in my gear bag in case I break one. It has happened on occasions where I break a nail when I have a "gig" coming up. Bob Armstrong was using them for the same reason, and he gave me one to try out. I stuck it on my nail, trimmed and filed it to my liking, and then I used it for 3-4 days before it started loosening up. After buying a set for myself, I simply "pressed on" another nail and prepped it for another few days of use. By that time, my nail was coming back, and I did not have any more important guitar playing coming up. Since then, I've kept a box of the Kiss press-ons around and have used them on more than one occasion.

I also agree with Norm about the square nail thing/craze... Fortunately those Kiss nails come in oval shapes.
