Building a Peaver

Thanks to Chuck Schwickerath for the helpful info!!!!!

Hope to have my version of the Peaver that Paul built for Chet at CAAS this coming year.
Mine will be sunburst.
What color pickguard and pickups do you think would go good with a dark sunburst T-60?

Hey Eddie - what neck are you going to put on that T-60? A basic Strat neck? With dark sunburst, I'd say a black or tortoise pickguard would look pretty cool. Pickups? Chet used EMG in the Peaver, I think (Chuck will know...).

Yeah it will be the same as Chet's other than the color and Chuck
said to put a battery holder in the back. He said you have to take the pickguard
off the one Chet had to change the battery.

A 1-11/16 or 1-3/4 inch Strat neck with ebony fingerboard.
Thanks for the color suggestions. That sounds good to me.

Eddie,
Since your T-60 body is dark sunburst I think I would go with a dark colored pickguard like Bill suggested. The EMG-S pickups in white would look good I think.
Thanks,

Does the body have to be routed out more in order to do any of the customization?

Phil,

Does the body have to be routed out more in order to do any of the customization?

Yes, the area between the 2 original humbuckers needs routed out for the single coil EMG-S that goes there. (The Peaver has only a middle and bridge pickup). Paul actually routed out for a humbucker size in the middle, but the single coil size is all you need.
Thanks,

WOW Eddie....this sounds cool man. I'm excited to see how it turns out where you're all done with it. I bet that turtle shell would look good with that dark sunburst. I've got a '79 T-60 that I love....what year is yours? You can do so much with these guitars...highly underlooked and underated.
