Rob,

I read a couple of years ago that Peerless is the manufacturer of the Gretsch Electromatic guitars. If you compare the Tonemaster to the 5120 they look very much alike.

Thanks Bryan.....funny i was looking at one of the 5120's in a shop the other day......never even thought i was nearly the same instrument. Anyone any thoughts on the 5120, does it give the Gretsch sound?
Regards

I have both a 5120 and a 6120. I bought the 5120 when my 6120 was in the shop getting a RMC Synth access built into it. The quality of the 5120 is just as great as on the 6120. I think the 5120 actually plays better than the 6120 but there the comparision ends. The 5120 sounds muddy while the 6120 sounds like a Gretsch. This can be fixed by adding TV Jones pickups to the 5120. A lot of guys are doing that. I have a hard time justifying the 2000 difference in price sometimes between the 2. One note, the 5120 sounds much better through a Bheringer amp with an 8 inch speaker than through my Delta Blues.

Still for the price the 5120 is one heck of a guitar.
