hello all I was wondering if any of you play a le patrie etude or concertl I am thinking of getting one but am not sure which one would be better thanks

I bought a leftie several years ago(Concert model). I play it from time
to time. It is good for Jerry Reed stuff & I have seen Brooks Robertson
on youtube playing one. It dosen't have the rich sound of my Rodriguez
classical or my McIlroy nylon string(a superb guitar) but it is a good
value for money instrument.

A friend of mine had a La Patrie Motif (parlor size) for a while. I thought it was a pretty cool little guitar and pretty easy to play. Would have like it a little more if the neck was a little narrower at the nut. I think it was 2" or maybe a little wider, and 1-7/8" might have been a little better for me. I don't know about the other La Patrie models, though.

Hi Brian.. I have a really cheap Etude that I found in a music store.. Probably a rental return. I put a salvaged fishman under saddle active PU and for about $200 it's pretty good. Oh I cut a new bone nut for it as well.. It's a great value guitar, but not a concert wonder guitar. Sometimes I take it to the cottage etc.... No worries if it falls into the campfire

does anyone know what model brooks plays and which pickup he has. it sounds great.

When I saw Brooks play in July, he was playing a Godin Multiac. I assume it was loaded with an RMC pickup system...

Hi George.. actually Brooks has some youtubes of him playing a LaPatrie. Perhaps that is what Brian is referring to. As a signature artist, Godin probably gave him the option of choosing from some of their models... However... I know not whereof I speak, so perhaps if he reads this post he will clarify.

Yes sorry i was referring to the le patrie guitar he plays my gypsy heart in his youtube video he has it plugged and it sounds amazing .
In my opinion being a great player like Brooks may help that sound but some times gear does help! some great players don't always have great tone. but in in his videos the sound is dynamite!!!!

I've got a La Patrie Etude with the built-in preamp. Great little guitar for the price. I've got it strung with La Bella 900, I'm addicted to polished wound strings for the no-squeak factor, but they're probably too mellow for the Jerry sound. Yeah, that's it. That's why I don't sound like Jerry.
