Butts preamp upgrade on a Gibson chet Atkins studio

A. Mutual friend of mine told me about a awesome upgrade I can make by someone called ray butts or something it's a preamp that is suppose to sound incredible Any one have any info. How much$ where can I get it , who can install it , does it really sound that great , does it even exist? Thanks?

It did exist and it did sound great, but Ray Butts passed away several years ago and his pre-amps are no longer available. He potted the circuit so no one could copy his design. I had a Gibson Chet Atkins Studio CE that Paul Yandell had Ray upgrade. Unfortunately that is one guitar that I wish I had never sold. My list of guitars that I wish I had never sold is very short and that is one guitar that is on that list.
