Del Vecchio help

Postby angelo oreilly » Tue Sep 27, 2011 9:48 pm

Any help much appreciated, A good friend of mine has kindly reset the neck on my Del Vecchio but is having problems putting back the top that's nornally held in place with a spring metal wire. Anybody pulled one of these apart and reasembled it? Any advise instruction tip or tricks much appreciated.
Cheers

It's hard to get back on, I always got mine back on, but I read in GP magazine years ago that some people snip a little off the wire ring. But I would try my best to get it on without doing that. Al

Al is correct. I always start mine from the middle, and carefully press in both directions until both ends meet. The key is to take your time, and work slowly and carefully. On some DV's it goes right back in, and on some it may take an hour- or an afternoon. But, just remember, if you got it off, you can get it back on.

Good Luck...those boogers are a real pain to get back on.
